Douglas</div> <div> I have included numbers to compare their teachings with the Scriptures from the Bible following afterwards.</div> <bR> <div> <FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#993300" FACE="Arial" >     </FONT>Mormon theology is polytheistic ( belief in many Gods) and anthropological (study of human's). <FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#111111" FACE="Book Antiqua" ><B>(1)</B></FONT>  God the Father was chosen in a <U>council of the gods</U> on the <U>planet Kolab</U> to be the God of the planet earth. <U>God is flesh and bone</U>, has all the <U>attributes of man</U>, and<U> is married</U>. With <U>his wives</U> he procreated all the spirits which are embodied in man and women on earth.   <FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#111111" FACE="Book Antiqua" ><B>(2)</B></FONT>  All these spirits - except for the spirit of Jesus Christ, fell from God's grace in their <U>prior exisitance</U> and were in need of redemption. Adam and Eve were placed on the earth <U>to provide bodies for these preexistant spirits</U> so that they might receive God's salvation and prove their faithfulness to him by obedience and good works.</div> <bR> <div> The chief consequence of the fall was that men and women <U>discovered their own sexuality</U>; therefore it was a “<U>fall forward</U>," for it made possible the embodiment of the fallen preexistent spirits. <FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#111111" FACE="Book Antiqua" ><B>(3)</B></FONT> <U>Procreation, then, is essential to salvation;</U> this explains the strong emphasis of the Mormons upon marriage and the family and the realization for the <U>polygamy</U> they once condoned. The church's fascination with personal <FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#111111" FACE="Book Antiqua" ><B>(4)</B> </FONT><U>genealogies</U> is rooted in these doctrines as well. The end of full salvation is <U>one's elevation to a godhood equal to that of God</U> the Father. This exalted state is <U>reserved for males</U>.  <B> </B><FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#111111" FACE="Book Antiqua" ><B>(7)</B></FONT> A <U>woman</U> can share in highest bliss only through her relationship with her husband, who stands in the <U>Melchizedekian priesthood</U> <FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#111111" FACE="Book Antiqua" ><B>(2)</B></FONT>, the highest in the church. Some measure of salvation and entrance into the terrestrial or telestial heaven is open to all persons except the devil and his angels and the most reprobate of humankind. The scriptures deny that God the Father has Flesh and Bones and not a single scripture identifies that God had a wife or "wives". Since God created man, how is it that He had sex with His "wives" and "procreated" man, by which man would then be "begotten" of God, and NOT "created" by God. Has anyone ever read about the "woman" Goddesses, the wives of God in the Bible? What are their names?</div> <div> By the act of a miracle, the body of Jesus was conceived in the womb of Mary, through which Jesus entered and dwelt among us as a man! Adam and Eve were placed on the earth <U>to provide bodies for these preexistant spirits</U> so that they might receive God's salvation and prove their faithfulness to him by obedience and good works.  The chief consequence of the fall was that men and women <U>discovered their own sexuality</U>; therefore it was a “<U>fall forward</U>," for it made possible the embodiment of the fallen preexistent spirits.</div> <bR> <bR> <div> There is not a single scripture in the Bible that supports such a teaching! The Aaronic priesthood was a priesthood <I>within</I> the law, and was <I>changed</I>, it was <I>disannulled</I>, or done away with! There is NO scriptural support to such an idea! Joseph Smith himself, had as many as <B>84</B> wives which were listed by Stanley S. Ivans. </div> <bR> <div> Mormon doctrine taught that God and Christ are both polygamists, that Jesus married Elizabeth, Mary and a host of others according to Jedediah M. Grant,  Second Counselor to Brigham Young. Mr. Grant goes on to declare that the reason Jesus and his followers were persecuted, was because of Jesus' belief in polygamy! This single verse alone is used by the Mormons to build a very complex and detailed (unscriptural) doctrine, one that can save (in their minds) multitudes, if not millions of souls, although not another single scripture in the Bible supports this complex doctrine of being Baptised for the dead!</div> <bR> <div> <I>Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead</I>? KJV 1 Cor. 15:29 </div> <bR> <div> The verse SEEMS to be speaking about a practice of being baptized for dead people, although there is NOT a single scripture in the Bible that supports this doctrine. So the Mormons have built a phantom doctrine underlying the verse, giving it another meaning than that for which it was originally written!</div> <bR> <div> You cannot find any instructions in any other scripture, by Jesus, Paul, Old or New Testament, that supports a doctrine by which any Christian should be Baptized for the dead!</div> <bR> <div> <B>1Cor. 15:29  </B>was NOT an instruction, teaching nor a commandment to be baptized for dead relatives, but rather a question by which Paul was dealing with a totally different issue! Notice the question marks in the verse? The issue he was dealing with, in context, was that of believing that there WILL be a resurrection of the dead!</div> <bR> <div> The Mormon church originated this false doctrine because of a MAJOR flaw in their doctrine. Their church and their doctrine had NO prior existence before 1800's. It never existed! So if the Mormon teachings have not been known until the last 150 years or so, then what should become of the billions of souls that have never heard the "Mormon Gospel" and had never partaken in the Mormon temple? In order to fix this problem, the church found this verse in 1 Cor. 15 and built a major mountain from it. They discovered that they could use this verse to incorporate the lost souls of millenniums past and give them hope for salvation by being baptized for them. Therefore, YOU can become the savior of your lost relatives by being baptized for them, and by your action of baptism, they can have a second chance to hear the Mormon Gospel and be saved! Since you now have the power to save them, or let them perish, You are now their God!</div> <bR> <div> The ONLY way to make sense out of this verse, is to read this verse in its full context from verse 12 to 32. </div> <bR> <div> It appears, that the Corinthian church had lost its hope and faith that the dead will be raised again! Paul challenges them on this issue to reassure them that there certainly IS a resurrection of the dead one day, and he clarifies the details of the future resurrection of the dead saints and what type of body they will have in the resurrection!</div> <bR> <div> The "The Companion Bible" explains it like this. </div> <bR> <div> "<I>Why are they baptized also? (It is) for the dead. It is to remain dead, as Christ remains, if there be no resurrection, </I><I><B>(v.13).  </B></I></div> <bR> <div> <I><B>The argument is, What is the use of being baptized, if it is only to remain dead?</B></I><I> No suggestion here of the vicarious baptism which sprang up later among the Marcionites and others</I>."  </div> <bR> <div> The following Bible translation, clarifies the true interpretation and thrust of Pauls words in this verse:</div> <bR> <div> <FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#008080" FACE="Georgia" >(GOD'S WORD)</FONT>  <I>However, people are baptized because the dead will come back to life. What will they do? If the dead can't come back to life, why do people get baptized as if they can come back to life? </I> 1 Cor. 15:29</div> <bR> <div> If you will read the <B><U>full text</U></B> of chapter 15, you will find the above translation to fit perfectly with the <B><U>context</U></B> of the chapter and the message Paul was giving to the Corinthian church! </div> <bR> <div> Contrariwise, you will find NOTHING in the context of chapter 15 that fits the doctrine of the Mormon church, namely that of being baptized on behalf of dead people to give them a second change to be saved by hearing the Mormon heresy introduced less than 200 years ago!  </div> <bR> <bR> <bR> <div> <FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#000000" FACE="Arial" ><B>(6)</B>       </FONT><U>Exaltation as a god</U> is much more meaningful to a Mormon than salvation from sin. The end of full salvation is <U>one's elevation to a godhood equal to that of God</U> the Father. This exalted state is <U>reserved for males</U>. </div> <bR> <bR> <div> Unlike the emphasis of the Mormon church on becoming an exalted god with little emphasis on salvation from sin, the Bible focuses on man's separation from God <U>because of sin</U>, and God's plan to restore man to a place of fellowship with Himself, the ONLY True God, by Faith in Jesus Christ, the savior of the world. Lucifer was NOT  "begotten" as a son of God! We must make attonement for our own sins by good works.  </div> <div> 4.  Mormon leaders claim "infallibility." They speak on behalf of God Himself. (Not much different from the Catholic Pope to the Catholics)</div> <div> 5.  Until recently, Negroes were Not entitled to the full blessings of God (full church membership) because they were not valient in their pre-earth life. Therefore they were not religiously equal with other races. A form of raceism</div> <div> 6. They claim  that those who enter the third heaven, will progress to Godhood, will be able to create their own worlds, populate them, redeem them, and even provide an Adversary with which to test them.</div> <div> 7.  They teach that The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are three seperate Gods. Joseph Smith said the same and wrote <U>another</U> gospel called the Book of Mormon. Muhammad discredited the Bible in favor of his newly revised edition. So has Joseph Smith. An "angel of light" deceived Muhammad and today 1 billion people are deceived by his lie. Today, 5 million people are deceived by Joseph Smith's lie. The scripture above is telling us that Good works will not force God to be indebted to owe any man. It is by Faith that God gives righteousness, by faith in Jesus Christ, our sins are covered (atoned for) and our sin is no longer imputed against us!</div> <bR> <div> The Mormon gospel IS another gospel!
