Thank you for your analysis of the crucifixion. i was able to use it for meditation today, a Friday during Lent (a 40-day preparation time before the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of our Lord).

Only one thing did i want to correct: you mentioned that Jesus our Lord did not sip the sour wine from the sponge offered to him before He said, "It is finished." The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and John all mention the soldiers "gave Him to drink," although John mentions most explicitly that He actually drank.

i bring this up because there is an amazing book called The Lamb's Supper written by Dr. Scott Hahn that explains the significance of Jesus' taking this last drink as a culmination of the Last Supper, the Sabbath meal with His apostles--culminating the Sacrifice of the Lamb.

Mat 27:34  Here they gave Him a mixture of wine and gall to drink, but having tasted it He refused to drink it.

Mar 15:23  And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but he received it not.

It was often given to those who were crucified, to render them insensible to the pains of death. Our Lord, knowing this, when he bad tasted it refused to drink. He was unwilling to blunt the pains of dying.

 “Afterward,” when he was on the cross and just before his death, vinegar was offered to him “without the myrrh” - the vinegar which the soldiers usually drank - and of this he drank. See Mat_27:49, and Joh_19:28-30. When Matthew and Mark say that he “would not drink,” they refer to a different thing and a different time from John, and there is no contradiction.  (Albert Barnes)

Good morning Brian, this is not a comment but a question. Some friends have asked me about this "course in miracles" which Oprah Winfrey has endorsed and I'd like your take on it! To me it seems like saying a person is their own "god" and can acheive inner peace on their own without Jesus. In reply to your letter, I was not aware of this course as I do not watch Oprah, but after a web search on the course you asked about, I find thIS: "Beginning January 1, 2008, “Oprah & Friends” will offer a year-long course on the New Age teachings of A Course in Miracles". It IS "New Age" and you are right, it is without Christ, or should I say the Christ of the Bible!

i seen just a little bit about the oprah comment..oprah was brought up i believe under a roof of pentecost..like many with a lot of money they develope a new group of friends..false friends..i say and tell your friends not to watch oprah, she mocked the one thing in the bible that jesus tells us there is no forgivness..

Hello there. I applaud your belief in Jesus and God and I would imagine you live a life which does make a difference to people. I am in the Mason Order and I want to ask you why you HATE us so much. Ive never recieved an X-Mas card saying "may allah bless you" we do not ask each other what God each of us believes in. I believe in what I think is the true god and Jesus. If you do not then I will not knock you or push you into a postion. I would not disrespect your choice. I would pray that your individual merits are looked upon during judgement. I want everyone to go to heaven, I want people to respect each other and not value money and status but value people and knowledge and music and love. If thats such a bad thing to you then perhaps you do not truly follow a Christian faith. But stop Libelous statements apearing on your site. Slavery never ever stopped freemasons accepting black people. We do not turn Catholics away, their Pope said they were not to join masonic orders. Not us. Im a 32' Scottish Rite Mason. Have you heard that May 21, 2011 is the day that the rapture takes place and Judgement Day being; and the end of the world on October, 21 2011?  The bible teacher also has a history of claiming the second coming of Christ and end of the world in September of 1994.

Hello Brian. My name is Mike. I am from New Orleans and I HATE mardi gras. My question doesnt have anything to do with that but I felt the need to tell you. I attend a church named Lakeview Christian Center. I have been there for 8 months now. I really like it because they teach the bible and they are not afraid of controversy. They teach the BIBLE. But I have heard people say OSAS. I myself lost my salvation so I know its not true. I had to pray and ask for forgiveness again to feel like I was really saved. I pray the sinners prayer EVERY DAY now. I would like to know if you think I should stay at Lakeview or look elsewhere. I pray for God to bless you in your ministry. It takes alot of courage to go into the french quarter on mardi gras and rebuke those people. You really do get on the firing line for GOD!!!

Thank you for your commitment to reaching the lost at MAdi G's. I had a nightmare about what goes on there, with out ever talking to people, or going there, and from that point forward, it creeps me out. The only solace I have is an aggressive one that is reminiscent of the old testament.

Feel free to write whenever your tired and need encouragement, I am sure your better than I at maintaining a safe level of spiritual renewal.

I am not rich, so my money that I could offer, would be minimal at best.

I am not as focused or disciplined as you, I fear that I would loose my head and take care of that nonsense the old testament way.

All I can do logically, is bring your efforts before the church, that I attend, who is holiness based, Nazarene, and see if there can be anything done.

Locally, we are loosing our funds to even support ourselves, God has been faithful to keep us thus far and I am confident he will carry us thru.

Have you done any blogs or discussions on Rick Warren, Bill Hybels, Brian McLaren, and the Emergent Church?

If not, thought it would be a good one b/c the so-called Emergent Church, which has the Postmodern/New Age thinking, has hijacked some 500K+ churches worldwide over the last decade by getting them to cater to today's culture(ie-rock music instead of traditional praise hymns, throwing out bible study and doing Warren's PDL "commandments of men", putting their focus on moving into million dollar buildings, putting New Age bibles like THE MESSAGE in the pews, and pretty much trying to stoop down to the level OF the world).

Also, quietly Christian persecution has been going on in this umbrella - those that merely call out the errors of the Purpose Driven program will get labeled as a "troublemaker" or a "resister", and will either get reprimanded or asked to leave(ie-one report had an elderly Sun school that didn't want to go into Warren's studies, and the pastor reprimanded them by moving them in a very uncomfortable room).

Come to think of it, this is very hypocritical of Warren b/c he himself insists that his member churches put lots of accountability to those who won't follow his program, but en yet, he will go around doing all the wicked and evil things - one of them being pushing Chrislam, which is an agenda to get Christians and Muslims on common ground(and less not forget his prayer to QURAN PROPHET ISA at Obama's inauguration). Among many other things.

I have another question, this time on your KJV-only blog.

No, I'm not trying to start an argument or anything, but one thing I find very concerning about the NIV(and these other translations) is where they came from. The NIV was published by Rupert Murdoch's Zonderfan(which also publishes the Satanic Bible, as well as promotes alot of today's Apostates like Rick Warren, Phillip Yancey, and John MacArthur). And the ESV is endorsed by the ecumenical National Council of Churches.

Again, no, I'm not trying to start a KJV-only debate, but just one question(and I'll leave it at this), wouldn't this be concerning?

And yes, I do agree we should be out witnessing the Gospel of Jesus Christ first and foremost, instead of trying to steer into other areas which can't save people(ie-trying to preach the post-trib rapture to the lost is unfruitful).

Anyhow, again, I don't want to start an argument or anything about the other bible versions outside the KJV, but at the same time, have you heard the recent stories about one of Rupert Murdoch's media outlets illegally phone tapping people? Recently, 2 of the whistleblowers died, albeit mysteriously(ie-one was 47, and it's not like a 47 year old will drop dead out of nowhere).

Pt being that I understand what you said in your blog, however, at the same time, isn't it a bit concerning that the NIV is from one of Rupert Murdoch's publishing companies? Who's done alot of wickedness within his Zonderfan publishing company and outside of it?

Dear Crossbearer-Brian,

I stumbled across your You Tube video on the Pre-Trib rapture and want to let you know that I agree with you. What better way for God to show His glory than to have His people go through the tribulation! Through it all I know He will be there with me and when Jesus returns, I will be ready!

The reason I am posting is to ask if you or anyone has any Biblical teachings on the Two Houses of Israel? What does the "grafting in" mean to you? There is a wide spread of messianic jewish movement throughout the world and I would like to know the truth.

It is not my intention to stir up any strife or conflict with my question. I believe that we, especially me has to follow what God leads me to do not based on man-made doctrines and beliefs. The Bible warns us to "come out of her (Babylon)" and I have been asking God to refine me so that I am not caught up in traditions and old time beliefs. For the road I desire to walk on is narrow and the gate is through Jesus.

God formed man from the dust of the ground, and then breathed into him the breath of life. The life force which made man alive and then man became a living soul. Meaning a human being, not a spirit or a soul. So how can when someone die their soul go to heaven, when God didn't breath into man a soul or spirit, but only the breath of life only.

Might I say brother without reading too far into your page as I am astonished to see you acquaint the 'last trumpet' with the 7th trumpet of Revelation. Firstly we have a problem with that....Paul wrote a mystery to be understood.  Was Revelation written?  NO! So we must do what the Corinthians did and look back in the old testament. Mostly as I understand trumpets in the old testament its a gathering call. Now we must also understand'last'? This I can't be dogmatic on but fits that its the fullness of the gentles.  Also comparing with John 14 & 1st & 2nd Thessalonians it is clear pastoral encouragement that 'we' won't go through the tribulation but be gathered to Christ to this place he prepared for us.

I find that there is no need of being kind when it comes to truth. I come to notice that this website is misleading people. This might be one of devil's medium to spread his lies to decieve people.

Be careful how you treat God's word. Seems that you need more study of God's word. Do not be satisfy that you are right.

Most people claim to use the scripture to spread develops lie. Check your theology.

This blog I think is not created with a genuine interest of truth seeking. A lot of arguments going on and you people will never convince anyone. I don't like relgious debate.

If you're interested in religious staffs, you should go and buy good theological and schorlarly books and read them. Also look for Bible concordances, bible dictionaries, bible encyclopedias and spend time studying God's word.

just wanted to say a big thank you for the webpage crossbearer in which you explain Jesus only & Trinity.

I found it well written, clearly explained with food for thought on my descions. I prayed to Jesus and continue to seek his guidance.

 i was baptised at New Testament Church of God, and after 4 year absence got drawn to Jesus only - of which I am tarrying for the Holy Ghost, in private devotion at home & now in a new church ..

 still unsure & fast for Jesus advice - God bless you on a well written document- thank you so much
