JW's are taught that this earth will not be destroyed, but rather a change in Government ONLY will take place. Obviously, total obedience to the Watchtower Society as this new Government is their desire. Instead of following Jesus Christ, the good shepherd, they return to the desire of Israel who begged “now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.” 1 Samuel 8:5
Instead of letting God be their ruler, by following King Jesus, the JW wants to be ruled by man!
The “BTD" says "literal earth to be permanent." However, the bible says it will not be permanent but will be "Changed."
Heb. 1:10-12 (Ps. 102:25-26) says Heaven and earth “....themselves will perish (Gr. "apollumi-"to destroy fully, perish) ...and you will wrap them up...and they will be changed..”
Matt. 24:35 "Heaven and earth will pass away (Gr. Parerchomai - means "perish, vanish disappear")
Rev. 21:1 "and I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away (again Gr. parerochomai - "perish, vanish, disappear")
2 Ptr 3:10-13 (read it fully) ...' The heavens will pass away with a hissing noise but the elements being intensely hot will be dissolved and the earth and its works in it will be burned up (Gr. Katakaio - means "to burn up utterly, consume with fire")
Verse 13 says there will be a NEW EARTH so the fulfillment of the Old Testament scriptures that the "earth abides forever” is true.
It's interesting that they write “Wicked destroyed; “great crowd” survive” and reference 2 Th 1:6-9; and Rev. 7:9-14
If they would go one verse more, Rev. 7:9-15, they would find that this great crowd is in heaven, before the Throne of God, in His temple, not on earth!
Rev. 19:1 “../ heard what was a loud voice of a GREAT CROWD in Heaven" Chapter 19 of Revelation shows the great crowd in heaven as they prepare for the wedding banquet of the Lamb. The Christians, His bride, are with Jesus as he prepares to return to earth, WITH His bride, and destroy the wicked and establish His Kingdom on earth for 1,000 years. At the end of the 1,000 years, the earth will be destroyed and a New earth will be created. Rev. 20:7-21:1
