Morals & Dogma on Lucifer

On this 2 minute interview with a Shriner at the Southeastern Shriner's Convention in Chattanooga, TN the summer of 2007, this Shriner not only confesses that He is Lucifer, but he also adds that Lucifer is "Pure, Virtuous, Wholesome and Innocent!"    Although they still confess that Jesus is the son of God, and claim to be "born again," these men declare that Lucifer is "good!"

Freemasonry adheres to the Doctrine of Luciferianism! If you will read the preceeding link to Wikipedia on the topic, you will understand fully as you read this page!

Shown below are the scanned copies of Morals and Dogma concerning Lucifer pages 102, 321 and 324.

The Freemason, a Masonic periodical in England, noted the reading of the following letter in its January 19, 1935, issue. Pike is quoted as giving this instruction to a council of very high level Freemasons in Paris France on July 14, 1889. (Leo Taxil) (1)

"The MASONIC RELIGION should be, by all of us of the high degree, maintained in the purity of the LUCIFERIAN doctrine If Lucifer were not god, would Adonay (sic) whose deeds prove his cruelty, perfidy and hatred of man, barbarism and repulsion for science, would Adonay and his priests calumniate him?

Yes, LUCIFER IS GOD, and unfortunately Adonay is also god...
Thus, the doctrine of Satanism is a heresy; and the true and pure philosophical religion is the BELIEF IN LUCIFER, THE EQUAL OF ADONAY but Lucifer, God of Light and God of GOOD, is struggling for humanity against Adonay, the GOD OF DARKNESS AND EVIL.”
(de Larive, A.C., La Femme et l'enfant dans la Franc, Maconnerei Universelle, Paris, 1889, p. 588)

In Morals and Dogma, Mr. Pike argues that Lucifer IS the one "who bears the light." According to Pike,  Lucifer is NOT to be equated with "the Devil", "Spirit of Darkness," or "Evil!"  Pike argues that the terms "Satan", and the "Spirit of Darkness," is not a person, but simply a "Force" and was an invention of men who wish to explain the existance of evil. Pike hopes these terms would not be used to identify the person Lucifer whom Pike identifies as the "the Light-bearer!

"Pike accuses poets of falsifying the nature and role of Lucifer by making him Satan." (1)

On page 102, Mr. Pike tries to imply that, before Christ came into the world, Lucifer was the one who gave the light and presented this light to the other religions of the world. Mr. Pike claims, that all of the worlds religions are "one religion and one worship" and combined, all the world religions are really the same religion!

Mr. Pike promotes this "unitarian" belief throughout his book, Morals & Dogma:

Masonry, around whose alters the Christian, the Hebrew, the Moslem, the Brahmin, the followers of Confucious and Zoroaster, can assemble as brethren and unite in prayer to the one God who is above all the Baalim,  (Morals and Dogma, pg 226)

The first Masonic Legislator whose memory is preserved to us by history, was Buddah (pg 277)

Every Masonic Lodge is a Temple of religion; and its teachings are instructions in religion   (pg 213)

His opinion is contrary to the words of Jesus Christ who claimed that these other religions, with the exception of the Jews, were all  "thieves and robbers!"

John 10:7-8     Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. [8] All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.

However, the scriptures clearly claim that Satan was a person, not a "force!"

Luke 10:18     And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

Luke 22:31     And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

Job 1:6-9      Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them. [7] And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. [8] And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? [9] Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?

Zech. 3:1-2       And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. [2] And the Lord said unto Satan, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan; even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

On page 321, Mr. Pike posts the question "How could Lucifer be equated with Spirit of Darkness?"   Pike draws our attention to the fact that Lucifer, in Hebrew is "Heylel" which means - "morning star" (in the sense of brightness)!

"Pike's writings teach that Lucifer never fell, that he is the light of the world, equal in power to Almighty God, yet less transcendent at the present time. To stress his point, in Morals and Dogma Pike ridicules the book of Revelation for denying Lucifer equality with God: "The Apocalypse (Book of Revelation) is.. .the Apotheosis of that Sublime Faith which aspires to God alone, and despises all the pomps and works of Lucifer....
Pike's scorn is directed toward those who have faith only in the God of the Apocalypse without giving Lucifer due respect. He continues his eulogy to Lucifer in the next sentence: "Strange and mysterious name to give to the spirit of Darkness! Lucifer, the Son of the Morning! Is it he who bears the Light, and with its splendors intolerable blinds feeble, sensual, or selfish souls? Doubt it not! "

Pike believed the pagan doctrine that Lucifer was the beneficent god who taught men science." (1)

Mr. Pike, then argues that the Christian doctrine which teaches that Lucifer is the "Devil" is man's attempt to explain Evil! Therefore, Mr. Pike contends on page 102 above,  identifying Lucifer as "Satan" is a legend ... a creation of men!

Scripture, however, confirms that Lucifer is the fallen angel known as Satan and the Devil, who was cast out of heaven with his angels who are now demons. Satan (which means the accuser),  is a person, not a force or invention of men to expalin evil!

Isaiah 14:12     How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Rev. 12:9-10     And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
